Wilde, Oscar – (1854-1900) one of the great bisexual or gay (and Irish) poets, authors, and dramatists, Wilde wrote The Picture of Dorian Gray (his only novel, highly criticzed as immoral), plays such as The Importance of Being Earnest, and poems such as “The Ballad of Reading Gaol.” Oscar Wilde married Costance Lloyd and had two sons with her.
